The Impossible
by Rocky Chambers

What do you magnify when trouble comes?
Do you rehearse the problem and magnify it
Or do you praise God and magnify Him?
Psa 34:3-4 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
What are you hoping for?
Do you believe the plan God has for you is good?
Jer 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to
prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
What is the image you have inside of you?
Do you see yourself as worthless and unworthy?
Do you realize the image God has of you is Christ?
2 Cor 3:17-18 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the
Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a
glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to
glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Consider what words come out of your mouth
For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks
Speak words that magnify God, not words that magnify troubles
Consider the image you have of yourself
Is it the image of Christ, the same image God has of you?
Those images are a reflection of what your hope really is
Is your hope anchored in what God says?
Realize that "faith is the substances of things hoped for"
It is easy to "believe" the bad things
To believe the good things we must turn our hopes, our inner image
And that image is based on words
Now consider what God has to say about you
He loves you and desires the best for you
Let that be the anchor of your soul
Let that be the soil that grows your faith
Mat 17:20 (NIV) He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you
the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this
mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be
impossible for you."
Magnify the Lord, let His love be the anchor of your soul
Get the image of Christ into you and allow it to transform your hope
Then you will dare to believe
And nothing will be impossible for you

Love Never Fails
My mother once told me, “you’ll be good at whatever you put your mind to,
but you’ll be successful at whatever you apply your heart to”. Looking back
over the years of my life I see she was right. I’ve been good at many
things, but success, well maybe that depends on how you measure success. I
think I’ve finally come to measure it by how well I am able to pour out my
heart.
I’ve come to believe that life will keep bringing you the same trials until
you see what it is you need to see to pass. And when that first trial comes
and you miss it because something happened and you were ready to pour out
your heart but in the end didn’t, well then you’ll find yourself going
through life with a troubled heart. Troubled I suppose because your heart
was ready but your life was not. Troubled because you settled for something
other than what you were meant for. Troubled because you trusted your mind
to do good instead of your heart to succeed.
In a sense we live two lives, one we learn with and the one we live with
after that. That first life seems to start the day you get off the path you
were intended for. The day you start to take the hard road. And maybe that
has to happen so that when you do find yourself at that place again, facing
that same trial, well this time you take the road you’re meant for. I’ve
heard it said, “a man must do as his destiny wills, but he is free to choose
the road he’s on”.
I suppose this is the paradox of destiny and free will. Some seem to argue
that your destiny chooses you, others that you choose your destiny. Somehow
I think Forrest Gump was right, “somehow both are happening at the same
time”. Is man the master of his own fate, or is his fate set so that he can
never change it. Myself I’ve become a big fan of door number three, thus
the Forrest Gump answer.
And reality seems to bear this out. I remember reading how the great
scientist argued over the nature of light. They talked about how light
represented the fundamental element of the universe. The first element.
I’ve always found it curious that the Bible says the same thing. Anyhow,
the argument was over describing the nature of light. Was it matter? Was
it energy? Was it made up of particles? Was it made up of waves? And then
along comes Einstein. I think he would have admired Forrest Gump as his
answer to the question about light seems to be the same as the answer
Forrest gave about destiny and choice. Somehow both are happening at the
same time. Light is both matter and energy, particle and wave, and yet it
is also neither. Funny how science seems to accept the paradox of light,
yet theologians seem to struggle over accepting the paradox of destiny and
free will.
But I digress. I suppose what this brings me too is that I find myself
facing the same trials again. Will I go another circle on this road I’ve
been on? Will I realize the test? Will I find the way? One thing I know
that is different this time, I’m aware of the fact I am in a trial. And
these other things I’ve talked about are things I have learned since. Yet
somehow I think it really comes down to one event? Will I apply my heart
and succeed or will I just put my mind to it and do good? Maybe that
depends on what I believe. Do I really believe love never fails? Surely
the days will tell.

Green Lights
Ever wonder why they are called stop lights instead of go lights? Red
lights instead of green? Seems to me the world as a whole has a mentality
that is set in a negative direction. We live in a world where bad news is
what makes the headlines. People are more inclined to believe the worst
than the best. And sadly that seems to carry over into the body of Christ
as well.
Gal 5:16 (KJV) This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil
the lust of the flesh.
How many Christians are busy trying to stop fulfilling the lust of the flesh
so they can be more spiritual? Yet the Bible says the opposite, walk in the
spirit to stop fulfilling the lust of the flesh.
John 14:15 (NIV) "If you love me, you will obey what I command.
How many are trying to obey so they can show they love? Yet the Bible says
the opposite, love Him and you’ll obey.
Mark 15:32 (NIV) Let this Christ, this King of Israel, come down now from
the cross, that we may see and believe." Those crucified with him also
heaped insults on him.
How many are like this crowd at the cross, you need to see it before you’ll
believe it? Yet Jesus said blessed are they who have not seen yet believe.
Truth is you’ll see it when you believe it.
The world has stop light mentality. It’s impossible, I’ll believe it when I
see it, if you obey me you’ll love me, you have to stop sinning to be
spiritual. How backwards is all that from the scriptures here?
Do you want to obey Him? Just start loving Him. Do you want to stop
gratifying the sinful nature? Walk in the Spirit. Do you want to see,
believe!
The Gospel is the Good News. Change your bad news mentality about what’s
impossible, everything is possible for him who believes. Instead of giving
everything the red light watch for the green light.
Are you sick? Give God the green light, He wants to heal you. Are you in
need? Give God the green light He wants to bless you. Are you struggling?
Give God the green light He wants to help you.
The army of Israel stood and trembled at Goliath. He was a stop light to
them. But David saw it as a green light and asked, “what do I get for
slaying this fool who defies God”.
Are there red lights in your life that are holding you back? Maybe it’s
time to give it the green light.
